The intense summer heat is getting more intense every year. When days continue with temperatures over 35°C, it can be worrying to go sightseeing. In the midst of all this, Little Edo Kawagoe has prepared places where you can stay cool and safe.
As part of its efforts to prevent heatstroke, Kawagoe City has set up “designated heat evacuation facilities (Kawagoe Hitosumidokoro)” in various places around the city. These are resting spots where you can take a break between sightseeing.
“Kawagoe Hitosumidokoro” is a “cooling space” that you are free to drop in to. You can take a break and hydrate in the air-conditioned facility. It is a reassuring place for elderly people who can’t stand the heat, those with small children, and those visiting Kawagoe for sightseeing.
“Kawagoe Hitosumidokoro”, located in the main tourist area of Koedo Kawagoe, can be found in the following facilities.
- Kawagoe City Hall
- Kawagoe City Museum
- Central Community Center
- Kita Community Center
- Waterworks Bureau Building
- Koedo Kurari
- Maruhiro Department Store
