When sightseeing in Little Edo Kawagoe, please be sure to use designated smoking areas. It is important to be considerate of those around you and observe good manners. While the number of smoking areas has been decreasing in recent years, they are still located in each major tourist area of the city, allowing you to stop by while walking or sightseeing.
The following are examples of smoking areas that were confirmed as of July 2025. These areas may change in the future, so please check local signs for the latest information.
Kawagoe Station East Exit (designated smoking area)：On the edge of a small park. Under an overpass. Near a railroad crossing.
Hon-Kawagoe Station Square (designated smoking area)：North side of Pepe. Next to the police box. Just before the scramble intersection. The smoking area in Kurari is gone.
Maruhiro Department Store Kawagoe Branch：Annex, 3rd floor. There is no longer an outdoor smoking area.
Kita-in Temple：There are two locations, one next to the 500 Arhats and one in front of them.
Around Hikawa Shrine：Formerly located within the shrine grounds, but has now been removed.
