In the tourist area of Koedo Kawagoe, there are some places where toilets are located within the grounds of shrines and temples. However, in areas such as Ichibangai, where rows of warehouses stretch out, Kawagoe’s symbol, Toki no Kane Bell, and the popular Kashiya Yokocho area, where there are many tourists, it can be surprisingly difficult to find one quickly when you need one.
Here, we will introduce toilets located in the Kurazukuri Street, Toki no Kane Bell, and Kashiya Yokocho areas.
Behind the Times Saiwaicho 2nd coin parking lot: From Nakamachi intersection, head towards Fudanotsuji and about 100m ahead on the right. Western-style toilets
Motomachi Rest Area: Turn left at the Fudanotsuji intersection, then go ahead a few dozen meters. You can also access it from the side of the Kawagoe Festival Hall. Western-style toilets and diaper changing stations are available.
Kawagoe Festival Hall Parking Lot: Accessible from the side of the Kawagoe Festival Hall. Japanese-style toilets, Western-style toilets, and diaper changing stations available.
Takazawabashi Toilet: Past Kashiya Yokocho, on the other side of the road. Western-style toilet.
In the parking lot on the south side of the city hall: at the back of the parking lot in front of Kawagoe City Hall. Japanese-style toilets, Western-style toilets, and diaper changing stations available.
Hatsugane Park: Located in front of the Honmaru Palace. In front of the parking lot. Japanese-style toilets, Western-style toilets, and diaper changing stations available.
Renjakucho Intersection: Located near Hon-Kawagoe Station at Renjakucho Intersection. Western-style toilets and diaper changing stations available.
Matsuemcho intersection: Located in front of Ichinoya (an eel restaurant) at Matsuecho intersection. Western-style toilets and diaper changing stations available.
