Unfortunately, the 2025 Koedo Kawagoe Fireworks Festival has been canceled. This marks the third year in a row that it has been canceled, and many people were looking forward to it.
Until now, this fireworks festival has alternated between Aina Waterside Park and Isanuma Park every other year, and has been a beloved annual event in August. As the administrator himself lives near Anina Waterside Park, he is very disappointed as a local. This is all the more so as he knows where to avoid the crowds and enjoy the fireworks at his leisure.
The reason for the cancellation was that “it would be difficult to ensure the safety of spectators.” Indeed, if the event had been held, it would have caused massive traffic jams in the surrounding area and illegal parking would have become more noticeable, causing growing dissatisfaction among local residents.
They will apparently reconsider how to hold the event in the future, including reducing the scale, but it seems that even the organizers will be faced with difficult decisions.
